FishPesa Account Deletion Request

Use this page to request deletion of your FishPesa account and associated personal data. You can also deactivate in the app: Profile → Deactivate.

Important notice

Before you submit, please make sure you do not have any unpaid loan balance or an ongoing loan application. If there are outstanding dues or an active loan, we cannot complete the deletion.

For security, our support team will review your details to confirm that you are the legitimate owner of the account.

Reason for request

After we verify your request, the account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, following a 7-day grace period. This cannot be undone once the deletion is finalised. Loan and repayment records may be retained where Kenyan law requires it.

What is deleted

Account profile (name, phone number, email, national ID, address, employment and income details)
KYC information and emergency contacts you provided
Device identifiers, push tokens and in-app messages linked to the account
Login credentials and the ability to sign in with this phone number

What may be retained, and why

Some records are kept only where Kenyan law or our contractual obligations require it:

Loan and repayment records — for accounting, tax, dispute resolution and anti-fraud obligations
Regulatory / legal records — where a court order, regulator or applicable financial-services law requires retention

Retained data is stored securely and is not used for marketing. When the legal retention period ends, it is deleted or anonymised.
